400 hospital attendants to be paid their overtime after one year

As the saying goes, better late than never. And in this case it took one year. 400 hospital attendants, who did not get paid their overtime for the past year will received their payment in April. This is what emerged from a meeting held between the workers’ union of the Ministry of Health and the Senior Chief Executive (SCE) of this ministry, on Thursday. According to union president Rajshree Thylammay, Minister of Health Anwar Husnoo delegated the SCE when in the past, she said, the ministry turned a deaf ear to their plight.

“About 400 attendants employed at the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo and Candos hospital are concerned. Overtime worked since February 2016 has not been paid. There was a problem with the administration. We wrote to the department several times without an answer. It was necessary to write to the Minister in person to delegate his SCE. The meeting was positive. The SCE has pledged to pay the sums due,” said Rajshree Thylammay on Radio Plus.
