The college believes in the potential of each and every individual, be it on academic or one of many non-academic activities. Deputy rector Christophe Wong Ah Sui, says: “At Keats we do not focus on the academic only as we believe in the overall development of the child. Many extra curricular activities are organized to help children develop self confidence and work better, such as health, book and environment clubs, economic forums, sociology debates, maths and science quizzes. We also have workshops on Hinduism, oriental day, donation activities, dictation and speech contests, as well as projects launched by the BAI among others,” he says.

Career guidance
A two-day career guidance fair will take place shortly at Keats in partnership with
the Ministry of Education and the Charles Telfair Institute.

Christophe says: “The students are not mature enough to understand the job market. They need to have an idea of careers available and select their subjects accordingly. The fair is for both the parents and students. In fact, it is a must that the parents accompany their children. Very often the parents choose the career which is not right. At the most, we can guide them and give them all the options. Students will then be able to know what is best as per their talent and interest.”

Lectures and talks will be delivered by resource persons on different subjects. The event will also act as a survey helping the college to better streamline a list of subjects for next year.  “Our positive moves are slowly felt in the society. People do come to us and share their feelings on this college,” adds Christophe.
