A man and his mistress were slashed by the man's wife when she caught the pair together in the mistress's home in Grand Bay on Wednesday.

It was 3pm when Suzette Jean, 45, from Poudre D'Or got wind that her husband, Renaud Jean, a 55 year-old plumber, was at his mistress’ house.

She grabbed hold of a Stanley knife and found the pair in the kitchen.

Without warning, she went straight to the mistress and repeatedly slashed her with the cutter. The woman managed to avoid further cuts by dashing to the bedroom and locking the door.
Renaud
was frozen stiff and his wife turned to him. She slashed him over the body driving the cutter deep into his stomach.

He managed to escape and gingerly made his way to his car parked outside. He drove home and his mother was shocked on seeing her son covered with blood. Renaud's brother, Mario, quickly took Jean to hospital where he gave a statement after having received first aid.

Meanwhile, SAMU was called out to his home in Poudre D'Or, where his wife had swallowed a large quantity of pills in a suicide attempt.

All three are in hospital under police surveillance.
