Last Friday, the Cabinet took note that the Université des Mascareignes Bill would be presented in Parliament next year. The Bill will provide for the merging of the Swami Dayanand Institute of Management in Pamplemousses and l’Institut Supérieure de Technologie in Camp Levieux. The university will offer a panoply of courses in different languages, communication, accountancy, banking as well as civil engineering.

Sport practice is important for the overall development of the psyche and character of any individual. It is therefore imperative that the capacity to develop physical, intellectual and moral qualities through sports be guaranteed within the educational system. Universiade was introduced with this philosophy in mind.
