Sexual assaults on kids

Child sexual abuse has gained public attention through the press. Prevalence of parental child sexual abuse is difficult to assess due to secrecy and privacy. This issue is becoming a nationwide commitment to preventing all forms of child abuse.
Our society should support the Child Protection Unit to minimize the risk of harm by reporting cases involving child victims of abuse and neglect. It is to be noted that most of the offenders are acquainted with their victims or are relatives of the child, most often fathers, uncles, or cousins, and even friends of the family, neighbours.
The situation becomes worse when the biological mothers refuse to admit the implication of their partners in an alleged case of sexual abuse. Should Parlia-ment enact more sexual abuse laws to prosecute the biological mother for encouraging sexual assaults or child prostitution?
We observe that the officers of the Ministry will ensure better collaboration and coordination in the handling of cases through the Community Child Protection Pro-gramme (CCPP).
Its main components are: The Community Child Watch will be set up in high risk areas to ensure early detection and
reporting of cases of children at risk. The Case Conference at Family Support Bureau level with officers of the Ministry will review and monitor the handling of cases, and expedite on lessening trauma and trigger early rehabilitation of children victims of abuse and neglect.
The Area Child Protection Committee (ACPC) comprises regional stakeholders to ensure better collaboration and coordination in the handling of cases. The District Child Protection Committees will take cognizance, review and monitor child protection issues at their level.
The National Child Protection Committee will coordinate and monitor the work of the six ACPCs, develop and agree on policies, review and monitor procedures for inter‑agency work for protection of children, and also make appropriate recommendation to ensure coordination and concrete action, including training in relation to child protection.
Apart from the Emergency Protection Order, the ministry has sufficient tools in its hands to combat perpetrators. So it’s a national struggle to protect our children from sex offenders.

I am pleased to hear that people are more aware of this problem. I have been a victim of child abuse when I was 11 years old and it took me a long time to confide with anyone. My parents made it clear that they will not intervene. It was a very difficult situation for me as i was very young and did not understand what was happening he was my uncle and he made me believe that he was teaching the facts of life. He would help me with my studies and threatened to tell mey father that i was not studying if i did not do what he said. I am now 28 years old and married and have a child and I told my husband this horrible incidents. These people are clever and they know exactly how to manipulate. He would take me to the seaside as he knew that i loved it. I think or i wish there was death penalty for these people and i am waiting for the day when i will face up to him. They r fully aware what they r doing and parents need to be vigilant and try to communicate with their children rather than in my case i was scared to tell anyone because i felt guilty for something that my uncle was doing. I have always wanted to talk to children who r abused and well done for raisinf this issue. better late than never. But i am sure i will have my say one day as it scarred me for life!

O tragedie!
Sinon ...eh, oui ... sinon ... sinon ... Que dire? !!! |
