    Orange policy disturbs


    From now on, all local broadband users' downloads will be monitored by MT.
    The introduction of the 'Fair Usage Policy' (FUP) by Mauritius Telecom's French partner, Orange, in April last, is causing quite a commotion among the local ADSL-users community. The reason is because MT proposes to monitor broadband downloads. Some call it a “stab in the back” while others find it a “necessary evil” imposed by the local ISP.

    Flu prevention drive is on


    A first batch of some 400 senior citizens have been vaccinated.
    Some 130,000 senior citizens will benefit from the free anti-influenza vaccination  throughout the month of May. This annual initiative of the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Senior Citizens Welfare and Reform Institutions, expected to cost some Rs 6 million, was launched at the Municipality of Vacoas/Phoenix on Monday.

    Port face-lift to cost Rs 400 M


    Presently there is no terminal for cruiseliners at the port.
    Port Louis harbour will offer a completely new scenery in the months to come as infrastructural works start in September next in order to meet coming exigencies like receiving more than 20,000 passengers travelling on cruiseliners.
