    Killer confesses crime


    Vicky Gorayah alias Kalico.
    A man confessed to MCIT that he had beaten a man to death under the Grand River North West bridge. His intention was not to kill, he said, but after spying on the man and his partner for a while, he wanted to rape the victim's ex-wife.

    Strangled to death

    Two partners, middle-aged, decide to spend an evening together where one of them was working as watchman. The place looks perfect for sweet whispers and a nice dinner by a pond on Le Bosquet Estate, in Gros Cailloux. Unfortunately, the woman had no wind  that  murder was also on the menu.

    A man and his mistress were slashed by the man's wife when she caught the pair together in the mistress's home in Grand Bay on Wednesday.

    The men appeared at the Curepipe Tribunal under a provisional charge of murder.

    Inside job at Barclays

    Police arrested two men suspected of embezzling the Barclays Bank of Rs 3 million on Wednesday. The men, Avinash Yerkanaidoo, 22, and, Vishananda Ramaya, 23, customer adviser employees of the bank, had transferred the money from Barclays clients’ accounts to two MCB accounts.

    Drug mule nabbed

    Time is running low for a drug baron involved in a major narcotic affair. Police seized a huge amount of Subutex at the airport and arrested a woman who arrived from France. On the same day, her Mauritian contact was also arrested at Riche Terre and police knows who the mastermind is.

    Rapists, sodomites are warned


    Quite high on the list of offences highlighted by the CP are rapes and sodomy.
    It is no longer business as usual in the police force and, for the public, ignorance of the law is no excuse. The Commissioner of Police has said this loud and clear. He has even launched an awareness campaign on a list of offences and the penalties they carry to warn that crime will not pay.

    ICAC arrested a third entrepreneur on Tuesday suspected of being involved in an embezzlement case at the Northern District Council.

    Police suspect paedophile ring

    A thirteen year-old girl alleged to Rose-Hill police on Monday that she was having an affair with her uncle as well as with a sports club manager. Police are searching for the uncle.

    Love, jealousy, murder

    Police arrested a man in Curepipe on Tuesday for stabbing his girlfriend in a fit of jealousy.
