This time round, for the first time ( at least publicly) we have heard a MINISTER ( and he is not Dulthummun ) SPELLING IT OUT IN BLACK AND WHITE to anyone who care to listen that we have a 2 tier citizenship in operation in Mauritius. That is, non Hindus are SECOND CLASS CITIZENS.

Surely Sobhanund, you must give it to them , non-hindus that such statements from a lawmaker would provoke a fully justifiable reactions from them.

Already we are telling them to swallow a bitter pill that NEVER EVER should any of them aspire to be PRIME MINISTER of the land , even if they may have the competency.

Now , without having to read in between the lines of Choonee's speech, we are telling them that ALL GOVERNMENT JOBS AND NOMINATIONS ( AMBASSADORSHIPS ETC) ARE RESERVED FOR HINDUS FIRST then IF THERE IS ANYTHING LEFT, then they should dream about it !

I am flabbergasted with your "statu Quo" attitude.

Have you heard of the word " EMPHATHY" !

Dont look it up, FEEL it for once.

Non hindus are not second class citizens. It is all the non vaish, i.e. Maraz and Baboujee maraz who are second class citizens whenever it comes to top jobs in the government. Has Nita Deerpalsing been given anything by that vaish of ramgoolam in spite of being elected twice....
Same thing for all top jobs.
High castes are worse off than muslims and creoles in this country and Choonee has only said tout haut ce que les autres pensent tout bas.
Ramgoolam's press communique is just an eyewash, the guy abhors high caste hindus, maybe he feels inferior but that is his politique.

Please explain" High castes are worst off than Muslims and creoles" - it is a bit confusing !

[...]

On as serious note, we must not under-estimate the frustrations of non- Hindus and non-Vaish due to the state of affairs of being relegated to playing second fiddle all the time.

The frustrations will build up up to a point when one day, for a completely NON-Caste or even a NON_COMMUNAL incident, then they will lash out ALL THE DECADES AND YEARS OF FRUSTRATIONS INTO THE MOST VIOLENT RIOTS. welcome 1999 and 1968.

YOU CAN FOOL SOME PEOPLE ALL THE TIME BUT YOU CANNOT FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.

Look at the Bright side of things: consider yourself lucky to have been born outside of sectarian and casteist labelling. In your case, you have no excuse to indulge in blatant discriminations against your fellow humans whereas Minister choonee and his ilk, invoke a perverted interpretation of the caste system to defend the indefencecible.

Oh no, in Paradise island, we too are very static. Nothing stays put. Except that we are walking backwards.!!

We also have no idea of where we are going, no wonder we always end up in the wrong place.

The author Pathik Pathak , in The Future of Multicultural Britain: Confronting the Progressive Dilemma- has this to say :

“We cannot build a common culture of shared citizenship if some citizens are more equal than others; if some have more rights and some have more duties; and if we discriminate against the very citizens we want to bring into the common fold,” he implores. “We’re missing the opportunity to strive for the real political devolution that many are crying out for”

Maraz -

I have answered you but I dont know when Subash will clear it.
