THE director  of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Satyajit Boolell concluded on April 9 that there is not enough evidence against the former Minister of Health, Maya Hanoomanjee to expect a conviction.

Peetumber: new Deputy Speaker
It was Pradeep Peetumber who was chosen as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly on Monday. He succeeds to Prithivirajsingh Roopun. Nita Deerpalsingh is again chosen as Deputy Chairman of Committees. Works of the National Assembly resumed on Monday 16 April after the December holidays.
