Air Seychelles outshines Air Mauritius

Winners at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2015 were unveiled at the Kempsinki Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare last Saturday. Air Seychelles was among the biggest winners of the night, taking the titles of Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline, Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline – Business Class and Indian Ocean’s Leading Cabin Crew. In front of an audience of more than 150 industry leaders from 20 countries, Maldives was recognised as Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination, while host Seychelles took the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination. In Africa, Kenya took the coveted trophy for Africa’s Leading Tourist Board.

An airline which has received several top awards in the past is now almost on its knees. For the year ended 31 March 2015, the group and the company recorded losses of EUR 22.9 million and EUR 23.7 million respectively, compared to profits of EUR 8.5m and EUR 7.3 million during last financial year.

André Viljoen nommé à Fiji Airways

André Viljoen qui quitte Air Mauritius ne sera pas au chômage pendant longtemps. La compagnie aérienne Fiji Airways vient d’annoncer sa nomination en tant que Chief Executive Officer et Managing Director.
