From being secretary of the nursing association to a freelance TV presenter and even flower cultivator and exporter, Mrs Amrita Vayid, a multifaceted woman, has been working in diverse fields. She now emerges as a perfect example of a lively and indefatigable lady who, despite being retired, has never given up on doing what she has been striving for since her young age: helping the needy through social work. Currently President of the Thalassemia Society Mauritius, she works on behalf of those affected by thalassemia.
