Small and Medium Enterprises

Today our country urgently needs a particular strategy of proliferating Small and Medium Enterprises not only to enable the resolution of the problem of unemployment and underemployment of people living in rural areas but also to boost their purchasing power, so that the additional demand created could push the country’s entire economy to grow at a faster pace.

Bhisham Ramkelawon - Promoting SMEs

Bhisham Ramkelawon wants to promote SMEs in Mauritius. He is an active member of the Jeunes Chamber International (JCI). He strongly feels that there is a mismatch of skills and expertise in terms of marketing and other related support
activities needed for small entrepreneurs to grow. According to him, business plan preparations are rarely done at the start of these small businesses. Hence, with his level of dynamism and creativity, along with the support of JCI, he feels that he can contribute towards the development of this sector in Mauritius.
