Entrepreneurship to be introduced at SC and HSC
The Government wants Mauritius to become an entrepreneurship nation. To this effect, the Education Minister announced on Monday, the introduction of courses in Entrepreneurship at SC and HSC level (Lower 6) in the months to come. “We want students to have knowledge of entrepreneurship when they leave school. If the student wishes so, he can sit for the exams and obtain a certificate,” he said, adding that creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship are the key words of education.

Un changement majeur est apporté aux formalités d’enregistrement des candidats pour les examens du School Certificate (SC) et du Higher School Certificate (HSC). Les candidats devront présenter un acte de naissance récent.

Best SC and HSC candidates
The Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) has published the names of the best SC and HSC students for the cohort 2011 on its website. The list does not only have students from star schools but also from other schools which are not considered as the best in the country. The MES will these students during a reward ceremony in August. Note that the percentage pass at SC level is 76.74% and at HSC level 79.31%.

Cambridge fait son son mea culpa. L’université britannique a reconnu, ce vendredi 9 mars, avoir commis une erreur dans la correction de l’épreuve de chimie lors des derniers examens du Higher School Certificate (HSC). Ce qui permet à un candidat du collège Royal de Curepipe de décrocher une bourse de l’Etat.
