L’homme public

Everyone is born free and everyone has the right to live the life he wants, as long as one is not infringing the rights of other people.
Being a public figure does not mean the person have restricted feelings, emotions, needs and wants. As long as he/she is efficient in the job he/she has been assigned or being paid to do, whatever concerns his/her private life is his/her own business. Who are we to judge?

Of course, certain professions, like nursing for example, are regulated by certain ethical codes of behaviour. A certain decorum or code of conduct is mandatory in order to practice according to the guidelines/regulations set by the regulatory body (in this case the Nursing & Midwifery Council) to meet the expectations and protect the public.

However, the moral behaviour of politicians and some public figures are not regulated by any professional body but by the flawed subconscious perception, irrational and moralistic expectation of the common man who is ready to judge at the drop of a hat. The irony is the same people who are very vocal in their judgment of other people's behaviour/character do far more worse and abominable deeds!
