The good news is that all these and much more is possible with the last ever Queen’s Young Leaders Award 2018. Yes! You got it right. You can benefit from all these wonderful opportunities with the awesome Queen’s Young Leaders Award 2018.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme discovers, celebrates and supports inspiring young people – aged between 18 and 29 – from across the Commonwealth, who show exceptional leadership qualities and have transformed their own lives and the lives of other people.

Winners of this prestigious Award will receive a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK during which they will collect their Awards from none other than Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the mind-blowing Buckingham Palace. With this support, Award winners will be expected to continue and develop the amazing work they are already doing within their communities.

The leadership course which you are going to benefit from the sessions in Cambridge and the different visits to several incredible companies and organisations will completely change your life for the best. They will allow you to think as a leader for the future of our world. You will learn how to better coordinate your work and make a positive impact in the community of your country. It is easy to write about it but it is only when you experience them that you can better understand.

As a winner of the first ever edition and prestigious Queen’s Young Leaders Award in 2015, this breathtaking opportunity of being recognised as the Queen’s Young Leader has had a lot of positive impact in my advocacy work for disability and in my life. Today, when I discuss on issues which affect the lives of persons with disabilities on a daily basis to the committee involved for disabilities, my points get a wider consideration. Every article I publish on the local newspapers, to international organizations on disability, posts and tweets, all of them have a huge impact.

On a personal ground, people look at me with huge respect. My parents, sister, relatives, neighbours, former teachers and lecturers and all my friends are really proud of my achievement from the Queen’s Young Leaders. Even today, after two years since I made it to the UK, people still talk about it. Every time I go out with my family to public places, there is always someone who will stop by just to congratulate me for winning this prestigious award and meeting Her Majesty The Queen. I have benefitted a lot in terms of the leadership knowledge I have learnt and now I implement them in my project work as a Disability Activist.
