The Moka Trail is a unique invitation to discover the unspoilt nature in the heart of the island. The 2016 edition of this much awaited sports event was launched along with the opening of registrations at the beginning of August. Racing fans and yearly participants will have until September 9 to register online on the Moka Trail website.

Publicité

Mocha Trail stems from the commitment of ENL and Rogers to promote sports in Mauritius and particularly among its employees. The groups also subsidise the cost of participation of its employees including their family members. The event is also part of ENL Property’s strategy to promote ‘Moka, Coeur de Ville’, a modern area, integrated and close to nature where it is good to live, work and play.

The event began with 800 runners in 2013 to reach 2,000 participants in 2015. The organisation of the event is ensured by an independent contractor and will be further professionalised through the support of Roag, South African specialist in sports events administration, namely registration and timing.

Simon Desvaux Marigny, the champion of Moka Trail and winner of the Royal Raid 2016, sponsors the grand event this year by joining the organising committee to oversee the technical aspects namely the route, the cleaning and marking trail. “It’s an honour for me this year to be the sponsor of this competition. The natural décor and breathtaking views are for us runners an extra motivation during the race,” explained Simon Desvaux.

This year, the Moka Trail welcomes three new platinum sponsors: Sport City, Subway and Swan. City Sport will provide T-shirts for the Fun Jog (6 km) and Subway will produce and distribute sandwiches to racers at the end of the race. Swan will cover the event’s insurance.

3 different courses

The Moka Trail proposes three courses of 6 km, 15 km and 30 km to participants. The Fun Jog (6 km) course is accessible to the young and old.
