On a recent visit to the country in August 2013 (and previously in 2011 and 2010), I could see the heavy transformation that has been happening over the years. Looking at the visible scale of new urban development, I asked a few questions to ordinary people about perceived opportunities and problems; and what follows are a few reflections on key themes and challenges that could be relevant for the island to move on to its next phase of development. This is a measured attempt to provide food-for-thought to policy-makers, political decision-makers, planners, professional bodies and especially the youth, who represents the future.
