The career paths for computer-oriented professions are very positive and it is said to be very demanding in the future in the local market. The actual situation clearly projects that employment in computer fields will grow at a faster rate than in other occupations over the coming years.
The slow connection in the beginning of the week takes source from Google, according to Mauritius Telecom (MT). Internet users in Mauritius had difficulty in accessing other sites since they were using Google as the search engine to access other sites.
On Sunday and Monday, Internet users in Mauritius experienced a really slow connection. Accessing Google, Facebook, Hotmail, YouTube and other popular sites was very slow and/or impossible for many across the island. According to Mauritius Telecom, the problem comes from Google, and not from MT’s side.

“Locally, we had no problem with the Internet. The problem came from Google. We noted an accessibility problem to Google and Youtube who are international. We are already in contact with both so as to look into the causes,” said the communication officer of MT.

He adds that other websites were accessible but Mauritians users tried to go through Google to access the other sites. He also points out that not all Internet users had been affected.
