Keshav Padaruth : Young and Achieving

Young, intelligent, handsome and successful… Keshav Padaruth is the example of someone who dreamt to make it big early and transformed it into reality. At 29, he is one of the youngest Chartered Quantity Surveyor (QS) in Mauritius and the first ever Registrar of the Professional Quantity Surveyors’ Council (PQSC). An introspection in his world which exudes la joie de vivre.
Université des Mascareignes (UDM) became the third public university of the country after the UDM Act was passed in 2012. As at now, it accommodates some 1,200 students on both full-time and part-time courses. Last week, the University held its first graduation ceremony.
Claudia Ho-Fong has had a long career in the public sector. Currently Acting Director of the Office of the Public Sector Governance (OPSG), she shares with us her journey in accounting and her duties at the Office.
He confided that it has been two years since he has been fighting for the police force to have its union, but to no avail. On 21 September 2012, Chief Inspector Tuyau and Mr Boojhawon lodged a constitutional case at the Supreme Court on this matter.

According to Toriden Chellapermal, former Director General of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and currently Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI), privatisation of television is the next logical step for Mauritius after private radio.

Writ of elections after 2 November

The general elections will most probably be held in the first week of December and the date that is being mentioned is Sunday 7. As at now, it seems to be the most appropriate one since it does not coincide with any festival of the country nor will it clash with the proclamation of the much-awaited CPE results which are due on December 4 and 5.
Sen Ramsamy, Director of Tourism Business Intelligence, has had a long and fruitful career in the tourism sector in Mauritius and the region. He recently entered politics by joining the Muvman Liberater, led by former MMM member Ivan Collendavelloo, though he believes he can serve the country without being a Minister or a Member of Parliament.
Tacitly, 2014’s May-Day will be played this Sunday. Labour/MMM has convened its supporters at Quatre Bornes and in parallel, Alliance Lepep (MSM/PMSD/ML) will gather its followers at Vacoas. The size of crowds will be an indication of each side’s current forces. Most importantly, it will help the indecisive electorate to make their choice for the coming general elections.
