Career oriented fair at UoM

Every year the University of Mauritius (UoM) makes it a duty to organise career and job fairs on its campus for its students. The aim is to bring prospective employers under a single roof for the students.
The 18th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (18 CCEM) will be held next week at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre in Pailles, from August 28 to 31.
A report issued last week by the Mauritius Employers’ Federation (MEF) notes that a mismatch between the qualifications of the youth and the demands of the world of work is one of the causes of unemployment.
Together with the traditional subjects, the students in our schools and training institutions must be exposed to techniques and tools that have become indispensable in the emerging sectors.
A group of 100 students is joining the JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE), Mauritius this August for courses in engineering. Operational since six years only, JSSATE has been able to make a place for itself in the tertiary education sector in Mauritius, welcoming students from different countries in the region as well as Mauritian students
