Early Years Pre-Primary and Primary School held its graduation and award ceremony on Monday 10 November at the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre at Bell Village. Happiness and smiles were on the faces of the 5th year students graduating as well as all the kids, teachers and parents. The founder and director of the school, Mrs Esmeralda Lee, told us about the enriching seventh anniversary of the school.

The first electoral violence

A brawl broke out after the meeting in constituency No. 9. Sailesh Fowdar, known as a labour activist and a partisan of Minister Anil Bachoo was beaten by a group of “bouncers” who were also present at the congress.

Studying in Australia

The Australian High Commission staff and Australian Alumni of Mauritius were present at the Australian booth at the Salon du Prêt-à-Partir from Friday to Sunday last, to give information on Austrlian Universities, Australian Awards Scholarships and Student Visas. News on Sunday met with Australian High Commissioner Ms Susan Coles who talked more about the Australian Education and Australia Awards offered to Mauritians. 
She is not only a beauty queen but also a talented, intelligent young lady. Urvashi Haurheeram was recently crowned the Miss University of Mauritius (UOM). The 19-year old Law and Management student shares her unique experience with News on Sunday and tells us what she acquired from it.
