Early Monday morning Pravi Gunghar aged 29, residing at Grand Bois was heading towards Port Louis when he lost control of his car at Bell Village and hit against a wall. The impact was such that he died on the spot. An investigation has been initiated to shed light on this tragedy. An autopsy attributed the death of the victim to a ruptured liver.

Son steals mum’s bank card
While doing a transaction at the bank, a lady found out that a large sum of money had been withdrawn from her account. Staff told her that a sum of Rs 21,000 had been withdrawn from ATM machines. However, the lady was certain that her bank card was safe at home when the theft was committed. The lady immediately complained to Abercrombie police station.

A dispute between twins about a telephone call sent one to hospital and the other to Court. Luciano, accused of sexual harassment on a police woman constable on Monday afternoon in Terre Rouge, was arrested by the police of the locality, on Tuesday. However, the 15-year old denies the allegations and during interrogation by the police, explained that it was by accident that he touched the intimate parts of the victim. It was on Monday afternoon that the incident occurred. Sonia, 22 years, who joined the police force three months ago, was returning from her sister’s place when a college student came up to her and asked for her mobile number. “I refused and the guy asked me to have sexual relations with her. He also touched my intimate parts. I was shocked,” says Sonia.

Killed on the basis of suspected infidelity

8th suspect in gold heist arrested
Luchmun Etwaree, an inhabitant of Mare d’Albert, was arrested by CID officers of the Southern Division last Saturday. He is suspected of having recovered part of the stolen gold from another suspect in Beau Vallon and kept it at Mare d’Albert.
In a statement given to the police, Luchmun Etwaree denied the allegations levied upon him. He explained that he was approached to do an errand but that he ignored what it was all about.
