Last Saturday morning, a family residing at Goodlands had the shock of their life. The husband found with amazement graffiti and other degrading comments targeting his wife written on the walls of the family house.
In addition, the graffiti, some more humiliating than others, are communal. These writings, which are accusing the housewife of adultery, angered the community. The young woman aged 31 and mother of two children cried scandal. However according to sources, these problems and accusation of adultery are not new. Some time ago, the woman had an argument with a relative and things have got worse since.

“Tracts have been circulated before. Their contents were similar to the insults written on the wall of my house. I had complained to police at that time. I gave them a copy of this highly defamatory leaflet and I even gave the name of the person I suspected was behind this act, but nothing was done,” said the young woman.

She also said to have received anonymous letters proferring the same insults. “In these letters I am illtreated and there are threats against my husband. This time I am attacked publicly, though I have done nothing wrong. I have my own guess of the person who wants to hurt my family and me,” she said. The victim hopes the police will act quickly “to prevent the perpetrator of this punishable offence to re-offend, because we are worried and tired and it is our reputation which is at stake,” she cried out.

She added the police told her that at this stage they could not act due to the absence of hard evidence as everything was done anonymously. However, an investigation is under way. Police investigators have their suspicion regarding the identity of the suspect. However, they lack evidence to arrest the culprit.
