In line with the celebration of its 10th Anniversary, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) launched the Promoting Financial Literacy and Young Talent Competition in December. The competition aims at creating and enhancing awareness of Financial Services amongst the youth and is meant for secondary school, undergraduate and postgraduate students divided in to three different categories.

Last Friday, the Cabinet took note that the Université des Mascareignes Bill would be presented in Parliament next year. The Bill will provide for the merging of the Swami Dayanand Institute of Management in Pamplemousses and l’Institut Supérieure de Technologie in Camp Levieux. The university will offer a panoply of courses in different languages, communication, accountancy, banking as well as civil engineering.

Next Summer School in August-July
Summer School programme which was launched on a pilot basis ended last Thursday. The closing ceremony was held at Domaine Les Pailles where the 700 participating students, accompanied by their teachers, had gathered. On the occasion, Education Minister Dr Vasant Bunwaree announced that the next Summer School programme will be held in the coming July and August.
