Global Business: Mauritius sets to woo international investors

The Financial Services Promotion Agency (FSPA) has undertaken a promotion mission in London in order to attract international players to Mauritius. During which it is expected that key interest will be generated from at least:
  • 5 Asset/ Fund Managers;
  • 5 new private equity funds targeting Africa;
  • 5 Overseas Family Corporations;
  • 2 International Law firms;
  • 2 captive managers;
  • 3 captives;
  • 1 investment bank.
Furthermore, FSPA is also participating at the Private Equity Africa Conference, organised by the well circulated Private Equity Africa Magazine. The Minister of Financial Services, Roshi Bhadain, will be the keynote speaker at this conference to be held in Langham Hotel, London. The FSPA will leverage on the Minister’s presence to further increase the visibility of the Mauritius IFC, and continue to build the image of Mauritius as the preferred jurisdiction for investing in Africa. Bloomberg UK will leverage on its network to promote the event with key London-based financial services stakeholders. The event will be themed “Mauritius: Africa’s International Financial Centre” and aim to attract some 150 attendees. Additionally, the FSPA and Minister Bhadain will also hold talks with key players from the Fintech Industry in view of attracting operators from this sector. It is expected that the presence of Mauritius in London for those events will further consolidate the Mauritian jurisdiction as an international financial services centre.
