Azuri Market: Made in Mauritius

If you look out for unique occasions to buy fresh and local products, 100% local hand made items or you would simply love shopping in a splendid beachfront setting, then do not miss ‘The Market Place’ at Azuri, Roches Noires. Going to the market in the heart of a seaside village may sound like a dream but it is not such a far-fetched idea. Far away from the noisy, smelly and overcrowding market places, ‘The Market Place’ at Azuri village will welcome you in it’s typical Mediterranean village setting. Inaugurated in October 2015, the Azuri Market allows residents as well as visitors to shop in a warm and friendly environment found only a few meters from the crystal blue sea. With its fresh fruits and veggies, local products and handmade crafts as well as good deals, the market place has everything to seduce shoppers. With the initiative to facilitate access to local products, you will have the opportunity to find a variety of goods: organic vegetables, fruits, candied fruits, pickles, cookies, potato balls, moutaille cake, papaya jam or guava jelly as well as crafts such as necklaces, picture frames with shell, denim products, candles and recycled wood. We could feel, after the last markets, that some people already have adopted their little habits and we hope it will become a ‘must’ experience of the East Coast,” stated Isabelle Coriolis Village Manager at Azuri. The last market took place on Saturday 12th March where exhibitors were present to celebrate Independence Day. If you wish to attend the next market organized by Azuri, save the date for Saturday 16th April.
